There are five Veterinary Polytechnic Diploma Course in Animal Husbandry located at Jabalpur, Mhow, Rewa, Bhopal and Morena, under Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University (NDVSU), Jabalpur (M.P). All these five Veterinary Polytechnic Colleges came into existence w.e.f. 2/2/2012, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 6 (h) of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University Act 2009 (No. 16 of 2009) by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Veterinary Polytechnic colleges situated at Jabalpur, Mhow and Rewa shall be under administrative control of the respective Dean of the Veterinary colleges. However, Bhopal and Morena Colleges are under administrative control of Dean, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mhow for the purpose of collection of fees & administrative control.
All Veterinary Polytechnic college established with the objective to train grass root level workers and to fulfill the manpower requirement in the fields of animal husbandry and poultry. The duration of the course is 2 years (4 semester) and the medium of instruction is Hindi. The total intake capacity is 315 seats in 5 colleges.
To impart Animal Husbandry diploma course for producing competent Assistant Veterinary Field Officer (AVFO).
To conduct teaching and extension activities for enhancing productivity, profitability and sustainability of animal husbandry production system and improve the rural livelihood.

A candidate shall be admitted to the diploma course provided he/she has completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of entrance examination but not more than 28 years of age. The upper age limit shall be relax able up to maximum of five years, if candidate happens to be a women candidate or SC/ST/OBC category. Minimum admission requirements shall be as laid down by the Academic Council of this University from time to time.
