Department of Veterinary Pathology, Rewa

▶ Brief History :

The Department was started in January 2007. The undergraduate courses are being offered since July 2008. The postgraduate course has been started recently in September 2018.

▶ Objectives of the Department :

Teaching: To impart quality teaching to undergraduate and post-graduate students and update them with latest development in the subject
Research: To carry out research by keeping in view of farmers need.
Extension: To provide regular necropsy and laboratory diagnostic facilities to farmers, wild life and other government bodies and suggesting measures to prevent and control of different diseases.

▶ Thrust Areas of Research :

Teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates students as per the guideline of VCI
Conduct basic and applied research related to livestock and poultry diseases
To provide regular necropsy and laboratory diagnostic facilities to farmers, wild life and other government bodies

The department is actively involved in extension activities like attending awareness / animal health camps, radio talks, publication of folders / pamphlets and popular articles related to farmers’ interest. Conduct of post mortem, examination of samples for confirmation of the disease and suggesting prophylactic measures and treatment to control the diseases.

Disease investigations during disease outbreaks.
Technical advisory services on various livestock and poultry farming through telephone, mobile phone, e-mail etc.
Training to any graduates/paravets about laboratory techniques and poultry diseases diagnosis for self employment
