Brief History
The department was established in 1964 under the leadership of Dr. G.W. Karindikar, followed by Dr. R. A. S. Chouhan , Dr. R. K. Chouhan , Dr. R. K. Pandit , Dr. S. P. Shukla , Dr. S.P. Nema , currently the department is being managed by Dr. S. S. Mahour (In-charge)
Objectives of the Department:
- Develop innovative measures in the animal reproduction by research
- Training to students , field veterinarian & Para- vets to use current assisted reproductive technology tools for enhancement of fertility at farmers doorstep
- Provide technical expertise to government agencies, NGOs and Co-operatives as per need.
- Training to Undergraduate and post graduate students as per VCI schedule enabling them for farmers services in animal reproduction specially pregnancy diagnosis solving infertility problems
Thrust Areas of Research
- Research in female fertility augmentation
- Phytotherapeutic measures in the field of female reproductive problems
- Current technology used to de teaching aids
