Livestock Production Management, Rewa

Brief History

This department was started during the year 2007, with the establishment of College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Rewa under the Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur initially later on in the year 2009 under the Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur.

Objectives of the Department

  • Teaching the undergraduate students of B.V.Sc., M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. for the methods and techniques of livestock handling, feeding, housing, breeding and disease management. In addition, this department has the mandate of rearing farm animals for the purpose of teaching, research and extension activities.

      • An ICAR sponsored scheme on "Experiential Learning – Setting up of Facilities for Hands on Training on Commercial broiler production" is in operation from 01.12.2019.

Externally Funded Projects

      • An ICAR sponsored scheme on "Experiential Learning – Setting up of Facilities for Hands on Training on Commercial Pig Rearing" is in operation from 01.12.2006 with financial out lay of Rs. 129 lakhs
      • Department of Animal husbandry and dairying, Government of Madhya Pradesh sponsored NMPS sub-scheme under RKVY project entitled “Establishment of pig husbandry training centre for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh”" with a financial out lay of Rs. 40.00 lakhs
