Brief History
The Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding started in 2007 with the inception of the college. The master and doctoral degree programme has been initiated from 2017 and 2020, respectively. The Masters and Ph.D. degree programee of the department offers facilities for specialization either in quantitative genetics and molecular genetics.
Objectives of the Department
- The mandate of the department is to conduct teaching, research and extension in the field of Animal Genetics and Breeding.
Facilities Available
Facilities are available in the department for various histological and histochemical studies on tissue sections.

Extension Education
Department actively take up extension activities in adopted village of the college. Extension activities like Breed sensitization, importance of native animal genetic resources, importance of breeding policy of state etc. are under taken regularly to help enhance the knowledge of farmers.
