Brief History
The Department of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology was established along with the College of Veterinary Science & A.H Rewa on 11th January 2007 under Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidhayalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur. In the Year 2008 officially, the department came into existence with the appointment of Faculty members. Initially mandate of the department was limited to Undergraduate teaching. In the Year 2017 post-graduation programme was started in the department. The department has completed one research project and currently one research project is undergoing in the department. Research, Extension and Teaching are the three mandate followed as per the University guidelines. Pharmacy preparation are prepared in the department and being sold for different clinical conditions of college farms and clinics.
Objectives of the Department
- The department is following mandate of Teaching, Research and Extension.
- Undergraduate and Post graduate teaching
- Preparation of various teaching aids and study materials
- Pharmacy preparations
- Research related to pharmacokinetic study and Antimicrobial resistance.
- Participation in the camps organized by the college to propogate local drug preparation among the livestock owners.
