Brief History
The Department was created by the Animal husbandry Department, Government of M.P., Mantralaya, Ballabh Bhavan, Bhopal vide order No. 2-17/2005/35 dated 24-9-2005, endorsed by the Registrar, J.N. Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (Endt. No. Acad/II/A/13/2177 dated 10-11-2005). The name of the Department was given as Department of Veterinary Public Health. The Department was established vide Dean’s order No. 352/PS-I/05, dated 18/01/2006 at College of Veterinary Science and A.H., Mhow (M.P.).
Objectives of the Department
- To establish infrastructure of the department with fully equipped Milk Hygiene Lab, Meat Hygiene Lab, Environmental Hygiene Lab, Zoonosis lab and Epidemiology Lab.
- To impart teaching, research and extension services related with veterinary public health.

Facilities Available
The department has two laboratories with all the essential equipment and instruments. The facility is available for water testing, milk adulteration testing, brucellosis testing, TVC, SPC MPN and other work. The central instrumentation facility of college is also available for conducting various researches.
